An Andreessen-Backed Startup Wants to Be the Neutral Referee for AI Benchmarks

Vals AI, backed by Andreessen Horowitz, is trying to become the standard reference for AI benchmarking — a neutral, trustworthy measure in a market now saturated with models and with vendor-published scores.

Any organisation here procuring an AI system — a bank scoring loans, a telco triaging support, a ministry digitising records — is choosing between vendors whose evidence is their own marketing.
